Comfortable and great looking shoe.
Worth the money!
These are a unisex shoe! I just bought them in a size 11 and they came in a men’s size 11 which is way too big so now I have to send them back the description never said it was a unisex shoe it says woman’s
It was a bit of a challenge getting them on but once I tied the laces and took my first step I knew it was well worth the effort.
Great quality and performance. Just beautiful. Must have a better run app
I wear a size 13 and am 200 pounds. I am on my feet all day as a PE teacher and coach. I had a pair of the original HOVR shoes that I loved. I bought these thinking the soles would be comparable. When I first put them on I thought they were amazing. After wearing them the first day they started to feel funny. After the second time I wore them my feet were killing me. Now when after putting them on they cause my ankles and lower back to hurt. The heel compartment completely collapsed and feel like they have a hole in them. I am extremely disappointed because I love UA shoes and gear. I have nothing positive to say about these shoes other than they look good.
I’ve been using the connected shoes for over a year now started with the Sonics and now have purchased these so far with about 20 miles on them been great shoes my only complaint was I had to get a half size bigger then any of the other shoes I’ve purchased and the tight fitting top has started hurting the top of my right foot.
I bought these shoes and ordered a half size up from my old speedform shoes. When I got them they looked great. I tried them on and unfortunately they were too small. I am currently waiting on my bigger size to see how they feel!
This is my first connected running shoe. As a shoe, it is good value for the price. The shoe delivers good data from the connected feature, and you don’t need your phone when using the shoe.
But a couple of caveats:
1. You must make sure that the shoe is connected to the app each time before using, if you want shoe data synced with the app. Once connected, you can leave your phone in the car, at home, at the trailhead, etc, and the shoe will sync up with the app when you return (I haven’t been away for more than 1 hour, so I don’t know if longer durations affect the shoe’s data and syncing).
I have found that if I forget to connect the shoe before leaving for a run or a hike, when I returned I was not able to sync shoe data with the app (or even know if data had been collected).
2. I went hiking in a remote area (no connectivity) and found that I was not able to connect my shoe. It seems that you need either cellular or WiFi to be in range. I haven’t tried connecting first and then going out of range. However, I think the shoe might “timeout” if it doesn’t detect motion for a while. The right shoe does the syncing, so if you’re driving to a remote location in the US and other right-side-of-the-road countries, trying to create a fake motion with the left shoe would not avoid the timeout.
A third issue that I have run into, not related to shoe syncing, is that I need to keep re-connecting UA’s apps with each other each time there’s an iOS update. This might be an iOS thing, not UA. I use MapMyRun (with the shoe) and MyFitnessPlan apps.
Other than these 3 (minor) issues, the product is excellent.
What’s funny: when I initially connected the shoe to the app, out of the (shoe)box, the shoe went through a “firmware update”.
